Jewellery Making
I have always been artistic and as retirement from the Civil Service approached, I decided to investigate new ways to be creative. A friend introduced me to her handmade jewellery, and I decided to give jewellery making a try.
I love semi precious crystals and sterling silver, so that is where I started. Armed with a list of suppliers of jewellery components I trawled the Internet and raided my bank account and off I went.
Not only did I discover that I enjoyed this new venture but I was good at it too! My colleagues at work were very encouraging and became my first customers. I experimented with a variety of types of jewellery ranging from the original semi-precious crystals in sterling silver to one-off “bling” pieces - chain maille bracelets, safety pin bracelets and children’s charm bracelets. Each piece I make is unique – either in colour, style or design. Examples of my work are shown here.

I have also taken a couple of classes in PMC (precious metal clay) where I have made a ring and a pendant. That is an area I look forward to exploring further.
